Slow Down to Hurry up!

Have you ever been in this position:

You're in studio > Need to get your caller on air after the next song >  Finish recording > Hang up > Go to your editor >Two minutes left on the song...plenty of time.

Your audio editor jams. It refuses to move for a minute. Crap!

Then...it's back working. You have one minute to edit the call.

How do you react?

Well, if you're like most people...you SPEED up!

Hand movements become quicker, eyes scan the screen faster than usual. Heart rate might increase. Pulse starts to throb. Speed. It's a speedier version of you.

Makes sense, I guess. Right? If you're in a hurry, you speed up.

Nuh-uh.

Speeding up makes tasks more complex and consumes more energy. It places your body in a state of alert and actually confuses your, otherwise, clear thinking.

Take a deep breath...and slooooooooooooow down!

Your body will remain calm, your mind will be clear and uncluttered and you can direct your attention and intention to your advantage.

So you have 15 seconds left...! No worries. You can handle it. "Don't Panic!"

Slow Down to Speed Up!
