Change happens. It's part of the nature of things.
Without change, we wouldn't move forwards blah blah blah. Without change, we would not develop (and so on!!)
Change happens in our industries all the time. Stations merge, change formats, on-air line-ups...they all change.
Today, SKY announced that the Sky One channel is being removed and replaced with Sky Showcase. Twitter is full of people sharing memories of watching their favourite shows on Sky One, from wrestling to cartoons to Jerry Springer!
If change happens to your station, job, routine. you can deal with it like this:
Nails: Get annoyed/upset/angry...whatever your immediate reaction is. Eat bad food. Swear like F**K.
Tracey: Calm down and accept that things change and that's the way shit happens sometimes. Put on some loud music.
Nails: Stop being so reasonable and maybe have a hissy fit and blow off some steam.
Tracey: Pick yourself up for crying out loud and DO something about it. Re-think who you are and what you do.
Nails: Have a shower, put on clean clothes.
Tracey: Talk to someone who makes you laugh. And eat a tub of ice cream in front of Netflix.
Nails:. Research your niche online. Then kick the chair and have a mini-meltdown if things aren't working yet.
Tracey: Sleep.
Nails: Get up and do it again until you get another gig or make the change that YOU want.
Tracey: Repeat as above until you get something you want/like.
You're only human and no matter what the 'helpful' blogs and articles online say...sometimes you need to swear, shout, kick, scream, cry, laugh, eat and drink and lose the plot. Then, after you get it out of your system, you can "move on".
By the way, anything good on TV tonight...?
