We were working with a comedian who wants to 'get into' radio.
Here's something he said:
"Lockdown was weird. I was able to do some corporate gigs but they're really tricky on Zoom because you can't see or hear the audience...so you don't get that immediate response".
Look at that again: "...can't see or hear the audience...so you don't get that immediate response".
This (according to a professional entertainer) makes his job a lot harder than usual.
Yes, that's what you do every time you open the mic.
YOU can's see your audience.
YOU can't hear your audience's response.
Yet, that's how you perform each time you are in the studio.
Never underestimate what you do. Speaking on the air is a skill and a never-ending learning process.
Be proud and realise, for others, it's very difficult to get right.
