"Presenters these days..."!

"Creativity is lacking in presenters these days..."

I heard that again this morning from a radio veteran.

I say "NO"!

Listen properly. Listen carefully. The talent never goes away. How it is nurtured may have changed over the years...and that is the crucial difference.

If you feel creativity has gone and presenters today "don't know how to entertain", then maybe look at who has been training these new talents and at a radio culture that has encouraged the style that you bemoan.

We hear from young and upcoming presenters every week and in their raw state, ALL they do is entertain and create. The level of talent is off the chart. Every day we are blown away by at least one piece of new audio. Every single day! 

Music gets the same bad rap (excuse the pun). "Music these days is rubbish" "That's not music"...you hear that often? Of course, you do. It's how life progresses...we change and become something new. 

The talent is out there and it's screaming to be heard and nurtured. That talent then lands a job on-air and is told when to speak, what to say and for how long. That's where the creativity goes. 

Listen well. The talent never goes away.
