It's Audition Season.

Within the next week or so, radio schedules will start to fill up with part-timers and hopefuls.

The annual Christmas/New Year cavalcade of weekenders and newbies who will sit in on, otherwise, prime time slots - Mornings, PM Drive, Afternoons.

We've all been there (and if you haven't...you probably will be, one day). It's your big chance to show them what you've got. In essence, you are live auditioning.

Take a few tips from actors when it comes to the audition process:

Kathy Bates: "I just stopped trying too hard and I tried to be natural and that’s when it got better. "

Jennifer Beals: "Not trying to say, ‘I’m going to be perfect,’ because perfect is the enemy of the good, the enemy of art".

Samuel L Jackson: "Know where you’re starting, where you came from, and where you’ll end up."

In other words...prep, know what you are going to do, be as authentic as you can.
