F**k It!

We were working last week with a presenter who is having a tough time in work. Job satisfaction is in the toilet, relationship with the boss isn't great, the office is still empty as people work from home and the show is suffering.

I decided to look up different coping mechanisms, to see if there is anything new out there. I found eighty eight!

Eighty eight different ways to cope with stress, lack of desire, energy loss, motivation deficit...you name it. 88!!!

Where do you even begin??

They ranged form 'journaling' to 'using asserive words when speaking about yourself' and 'accessing your higher self'. All lovely and very worthwhile but not very 'practical', shall we say.

I remember reading the book "F**k it!" years ago...and sometimes, the message still works today.

Try it. Just say "F**k it!". Eastern philosophies express the idea of letting go and finding freedom by realising that things don't matter much (if at all). This helps with that.

I'm not saying it's easy. It's not. But sometimes, if you look at a situation and realise it won't be forever...saying "F**k it!" can release the tension.

That and a frickin' good strong cup of coffee!

  1. One of the things I've learned in the last 10 years is that very little matters that much you need to get all stressy about it, so just asking yourself, does it matter, I mean really matter, also helps. In six months time, 99.9% of things we were stressed about either didn't happen or weren't worth the worry.
