The most common critique I received from PDs over the years?
"Slow down!"
I speak quickly. If you have ever sat in on one of our webinars or taken coaching with us, you will hear Tracey say "OK Nails...slow down!"
I get excited.
I'm emotional about coaching because I LOVE it. I love to help and the adrenalin kicks in during a session. Tracey is equally as passionate about what we do (every single day she says "I freakin' love my job!!") but can control her excitement really well. It's a chemistry that works for us and we all have fun with it.
If you find that you are told more often than not to bring the verbal speed down a gear, just remember: Speed isn't the issue. Clarity is the issue.
If you remain clear and focused, your listener will hear you.
Clarity is key.
Have you ever seen those auctioneers call out prices at a market? 1,000 miles per hour!!! But 'clear'.
Slowing down may not suit you and that's OK. It's your style. It's who you are.
Your responsibility, as a professional, is to be clear and understood.
