Four years ago, Tracey dreamed of running a worldwide talent contest for radio presenters. Nothing like that had existed and she didn't know if it was even a viable idea.
With a vision and raging ambition...RadioStar was born.
Over the years, it has grown from a modest 'year one' start to become a monster in year four!
In 2020, we received over two million visitors to the RadioStar webpage and launched careers for people in the UK, Ireland, Canada, US and Australia.
RadioStar contestants have gone on to work for the BBC, RTE and independent companies across the US and Canada (Audacy and Rogers for examples).
'Our' people now programme radio stations and run morning shows across the world.
As one of our Judges this year said: "This is an incredible concept and we all look forward to hearing the new talent every year".
RadioStar takes a massive amount of time and effort.
We don't get paid for RadioStar...every minute put into the contest over six months is free. We have no corporation or company backing us.
This is just two people running a worldwide contest...and you know what...? It's exhausting and almost bankrupted us...but it's worth it.
So, I doff the cap to Tracey...her original vision has literally changed lives.
Amazing what you can do with one idea when you have the determination and passion for what you do.
