In March, The Number 1 Radio Station in the Netherlands started something NEW!
DJs without headphones or a microphone in front of them. Instead, just a headset with an earpiece in both ears. Similar to the ones we regularly see on TV or at conferences.
Nails: What do you think, Tracey?
Tracey: I like it. It’s clean, gives them freedom to move around...motion creates emotion.
Nails: I just love the fact that they are trying something new! Imagine how it must feel to work with no mic!! Do you think you would enjoy that?
Tracey: I like technological evolution! I’d give it a try! How about you?
Nails: You know me...anything that means I’m not tied to the one spot is good in my book. The freedom to move creates more energy. It goes back to the ‘stand-up’ studios...but is going one step further.
Tracey: WOW...this is blowing my mind. Basically, it’s a method that creates emotion and makes you more energetic. That can only be great for radio...yeah?
Nails: We’ve used these wrap-around type mics on stage, haven’t we? But this is different.
Tracey: Visual is an ESSENTIAL in radio now; on-air cameras, presenters making tik tok videos in studio. The Future has arrived! Congratulations to QMusic for introducing us to this!
