Why You May Like Facebook Rooms.

By now, to 'Zoom' someone has taken over as the shorthand for calling a person online. How fickle we all are...remember when to 'Skype' a friend was how the cool kids behaved??

If, like a lot of people, you like the concept of 'Zoom' but not Zoom itself...you're in luck because both Google and Facebook offer FREE alternatives. Hooray!

We started using Zoom back in 2018. It was pretty much the only free/cheap and accessible way to video communicate with clients. One good thing about the past year or so is that the mystique surrounding on-screen chats has gone.

We dumped Zoom over a year ago and tried Google Meet. Very simple concept...grab a URL link, send it to your participant(s) and away you go! You can access it through your Gmail and send calendar reminders etc. Nice and neat, for the most part. If you're super popular, the hosting limit is 100 people.

BUT...we've found our favourite platform and it's from the evil empire that is Facebook!! I know...we never promote Facebook normally, but credit where it's due. Facebook Rooms is so easy to use and has literally never let us down.  Grab the URL link, send it to your participant and there they are...on your screen. Same as Zoom or Google Meet. Share your screen and allow the other person to share theirs. Sound familiar? Sure it does...it's the same as Zoom and Meet. BUT...as I say, this has a 100% reliability record with us...and we use it a LOT! Plus, you can call up to 50 people at once.
If you want to try something new and never considered this as a viable way to communicate...give it a go. Your caller doesn't even need a Facebook account. The URL link will work no matter.

So, if we are calling you and we send a Facebook link...don't be surprised...just enjoy the ride :)
