Close To The Edge.

One of my favourite 'PD Moments' came a few years ago when I was filling some shifts for my great pal, Mark Robinson. 

I've known 'Robbo' for about 20 years...a better PD and person, you would be hard-pressed to meet.

This happened one afternoon...about 3pm. During a backsell, I was doing a 'bit' about how bands got their names. It was on the lines of "Fleetwood Mac...where did that name come from? Heaven 17...? And that's BlowMonkeys" - into the ads. Just being cheeky and thinking nothing of it.

About one minute later, Mark walks into the studio with a piece of paper in his hand and passes it to me.

On it, stood a stick figure with an arrow and the word 'Nails'. Another arrow pointed to a cliff that the figure was standing on and it simply said 'Edge'.

Robbo smiled and wagged his finger at me as if to say..."That was bloody close!!"

Sometimes going to the edge is fun...just try not to fall over ;)

Mark now hosts mornings back in Oz on the Gold Network.
