Great note from an industry friend of ours who pointed something out from an internal memo.
"As I read an email sent out from a presenter here updating what's on the show...it said on the end 'Have a good day everyone'. It was quite personable up until that bit on the end."
There's that word again...'Everyone'
It's amazing how it can rub you up the wrong way, even when it's written in a memo.
Using it to speak to your listener can be a massive turn-off. If radio is one-on-one, then speak to me...not 'everyone'. Your listener can't see 'everyone'.
Very few presenters can pull this word off successfully...it IS possible, but can only be done after a deep relationship has been formed.
Radio 101 says the medium is personal. The word 'everyone' denies that.
