Radio comes into it's own when tough times arrive.
In Western Canada, communites have been torn apart by recent floods and wild weather and this post from Ross Winters (Director of Programming at Pattison Media) shows how committed radio people are to being the point of contact for listeners...even when we are disconnected from them

"This is our station Q101 in Merritt in August, this week they had to evacuate with the rest of the city due to flooding from the atmospheric river rain storm that has caused untold damage in BC. The on air crew have temporarily moved to Kamloops, staying in motels with their pets, and keeping the broadcasts on the air from Kamloops. Keeping their listeners informed because that’s what they do and that’s what local radio does. Hats off to #RogerWhite and team and hang in there! You are doing great!"
