What Day is it???

"It's Thursday morning..."

Here's a shocker...your listener most likely already knows what day it is.

Probably no need to tell them.

Unless you have a reason..."It's the first Thursday that this has happened..." or "It was on a Thursday that blahdy blah was recorded..." whatever.

The point being, if you say the day, you need a reason.

Otherwise, you might as well say "It's Thursday, you're a human and this is planet earth".

They already know.

We're meeting our listener again (or for the first time) when we open the mic and speak.

Do you announce the day to people you meet in ‘real’ life?

“Good morning dear, hope you slept well….it’s Thursday morning”!

"Hello John how are the kids...it's Thursday morning".

So, why do we do it on the radio?

* If it sounds odd in real life, then it will sound even more odd on the radio.

* Underthink the whole ‘radio’ angle and be a person.
