Amateur Hour.

"I'm really annoyed at UPS today. That's three days since I ordered..."

"Does anyone know a good plumber in Canton? Major leak at the weekend."

"So, THIS....is what I call a dinner!"

Three fairly innocent posts on the Facebook feed today. No harm done.

The only thing is...they are on the professional pages of radio presenters we follow.

OK, you can say they are letting people in on their lives and that's what social media is all about.

True...but on a professional page, these look...'unprofessional'.

Imagine you are looking to hire a presenter for a live gig, even a VT show. You want to see that they know how to play the game...that they have their brand on point and that they will represent you well.

Being annoyed at the UPS delivery guy, asking about local plumbers and showing your dinner (yep, that old classic) won't do it for you.

* Keep all of that content, if you like - but place it on a page for friends and family only.

* Create a second page...and use THAT one for work and professional pieces.

If it's between you and the other person for the afternoon drive gig and I can't decide which...I'm probably not going to go with the one who just posted a picture of their laundry.

You need to brand yourself to at least a decent level if you are looking for a job/new job or just want to look professional.
