You really need to think things through, sometimes, don't you?
I wonder how much time and thought went into flipping the 105.8 frequency in London from Absolute Radio to Greatest Hits Radio today? A LOT, I'm sure.
If you're in London, you still have the option of Absolute on DAB...but isn't FM still King/Queen of the platforms? Why take an established brand and replace it? You need to do your homework (as they say). OK, GHR has Simon Mayo, Paul Gambiaccini, Janice Long, Pat Sharp ...it's a sort of BBC Radio 2 with a tight format. BUT...change comes with risk. There are no guarantees.
Good luck to Bauer with that move.
As for you...how are you at risk-taking?
When did you last take a calculated punt or a blind jump?
* Risks create new possibilities - If you are stuck in a rut, a risk can generate new and exciting options.
* Risks can help you overcome fears - Try something risky and it can add to your overall inner strength.
* Risks are creative - They carry you forward, rather than backward.
You will always learn from taking a risk - one way or the other.
Bauer has taken a calculated risk and all of the above will apply.
